In this weeks episode of THE LIKES OF US podcast, dedicated to Working-Class Life, Art, Politics and Culture, your host, Neil Bradley does a stint at the Goldsmiths College Open Day, takes a nice walk with Child-Palmer, and offers up Part 1 of 'The Great Western Adventure,' arriving in Salt Lake City, Utah, and getting straight into the action. In fact, within a couple of hours of landing in the US he was off in search of Donny and Marie in Temple Square, visiting the Mormon Tabernacle Church and the Meeting House, where Brigham Young preached, is gifted the Book of Mormon, meets a Mormon hot cop, and visits the Utah State House, only to discover there's not a soul there. He then travels onto Provo and Pryce, Utah, where he encounters some Walmart staff, who tell him about 'craw daddy' and the joys of working at one of the biggest (most unloved) supermarkets in the world. He also attempts buying a Winchester rifle, takes a stroll down Main Street, Moab, visits the point where Thelma and Louise end their lives, witnesses a very English domestic dispute, and giggles as a man, wearing a pink wig, topples out of his wheelchair! Honestly, you couldn't make this stuff up!
