VW PLANTS NOW RUNNING AFTER DISPUTEVolkswagen plants, building Golfs and Passats, were at a standstill earlier this week following a dispute with suppliers. To read more click here.UBER AND VOLVO TIE-INVolvo and Uber are working together on a project to further both company's autonomous driving aims. Volvo will supply vehicles to Uber, based on their Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), who will then use their own autonomous technology they've been working on to develop it more. Another manufacturer has a tie-in with a ride-share company. But, will the fact that Volvo is owned by a Chinese company mean there is an opportunity for Uber to go back in to China in due course? The process of making carbon fibre is costly, in large part due to the waste. If there is a way to recycle it then this could well bring down the cost thus allowing for more to be used in mainstream cars. TESLA EXTEND RANGE CAPABILITYTesla announced a new battery, the P100, which will allow the model S and X to do over 300 miles when fully charged. Also, the Model S becomes the quickest accelerating car, to 60mph, currently in production. Speed is fine, but range is what is needed when the car is already fast.
