Chavez Jr. feels Canelo didn't satisfy expectations "Canelo looked good, but he did not fulfill the expectations that we expected or wanted, because they were talking about him being the new figure of boxing. He is a good champion, he was at the level of Cotto, he connected with the best shots and won, but I did not se many advances that would indicate that Canelo is a great fighter", Chavez told ESPN Deportes. "He fights well, good stamina, but he always fights at the same pace and always displays same speed." Canelo's Coach: We Are Not Inventing a New Division! Edison Reynoso, trainer of WBC 155 pound division Saul Alvarez, says his fighter is not trying to invent a new weight division but he feels very comfortable at 155-pounds and has no intention of moving up any further. "We have not spoken with GB but we are ready to fight. Canelo faced Cotto, who is a great fighter. That was a good step and I do not see why we can not face GGG," the trainer told ESPN Deportes. "But for now we're not going to move from 155-pounds. We are quite comfortable at this weight and it suits us. We are not inventing a new division, its just part of the business, everyone looks for what suits them, and whoever wants to fight with Saul will have to come down or up". Cotto plans to return Mid-2016, Confident He Won -During radio interview in Puerto Rico, Cotto felt very confident in his fight with Saul Alvarez. The former champion believes he won 8 of the 12 rounds last Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. "If you watch it 300 times, you'll see the same thing. Miguel Cotto won and defeated "Canelo" Alvarez," Cotto said to the host. He also takes about his decision on not paying the ridiculous 1.1 million dollar sanctioning fee to WBC, 4 days prior to fight. "Miguel Cotto doesn't need the World Boxing Council and the World Boxing Council does not need Miguel Cotto," Cotto said. Cotto has one more fight with Roc Nation in a contract that is worth $50 million dollars. He plans on taking that last fight around the middle of 2016 Mike Alvarado making comeback in 2016 http://www.boxingscene.com/mike-alvarado-training-hard-planned-comeback--98614 Shannon Briggs Launches the 'Lets go Champ' App http://www.boxingscene.com/shannon-briggs-launches-lets-go-champ-app--98513 Light-heavyweight legend Bob Foster passes away foster_bobby02 Former undisputed champion boxer Bob Foster, considered one of the greatest light-heavyweights of all time, passed away today at the age of 77. In a career that spanned 65 fights and 17 years, Foster punched his way to the light heavyweight championship, then defended his undisputed title a record number of times for his class—14 times—between 1969 and 1973. Foster was a risk-taker, taking the leap into the heavyweight division to fight the era’s giants: guys like Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali. The only losses on his record are to heavyweights. As a light heavy, Foster was untouchable. Foster retired undefeated in 1974, then returned to the ring for seven fights before he called it quits for good in 1978. His record was 56-8-1, with 46 knockouts. After retiring from boxing, Foster worked for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department. He was active, off and on, in local boxing until the late 2000s. — Chris Cozzone (Fightnews.com) NBC - Nov 28 (3PM ET/12PM PT) Jermall Charlo vs. Wilky Campfort (IBF junior middleweight title) HBO - Nov 28 (4:45PM ET/PT) Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury (WBA/WBO/IBF heavyweight title) Showtime - Nov 28 (11PM ET/PT) James DeGale vs. Lucian Bute (IBF super middleweight title) Jermall Charlo http://boxrec.com/boxer/471634 Lucian Bute http://boxrec.com/boxer/223046 Wladimir Klitschko http://boxrec.com/boxer/7035
