What do Democrats think of Defunding the Police, France’s Bailouts, and The Future of the Cruise Industry

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY:
Trump and Biden actually agree on something. Don’t defund the police.
France joins the list of bailing out airliners.
And the recovery of the cruise industry will depend on their ability to protect the passengers while maximizing happiness. 

Messaging matters, words matter, and what defunding the police sounds like and what it actually is, matters. Let’ break down in the simplest of terms what defunding the police means, it is to reduce the amount of money spent on the police and give that money to other aspects of the community as well as reform the police. Give money to the community as in education, after school programs, and so on. But as mentioned above, saying the word defunding creates a different narrative then what activists are calling for. It sounds like taking away the police. And by the way, some activists have called for the abolishment of police, which to most probably sounds extreme. So, with that being said let’s break it down from the Republican side and Democratic side. I do want to acknowledge it is unfortunate that this has become a political issue rather than an issue the nation should take on together, but that’s the way it is.
It is very likely President Trump will use the call for defunding police to not only create fraction in the Democrat party but to strengthen his stance on how he said, Law and Order. It will serve as a rallying cry to the public that the police aren’t going anywhere and he could possibly use it to avoid his handling of protests the past few weeks. 
Joe Biden has navigated cautiously away from defunding the police, he has actually called to spend more money. He also wants police reform. It seems like Biden is trying to be the great moderate, appealing to both Republicans and Democrats. But will that cause him to lose support within his own base?
Overall there has not been a strong push from political leaders at the federal level to defund the police, but a very strong push to reform the police.
