We live in a world filled with so many new technologies and developments designed to connect us to clients more easily, and it’s tempting to try them all. Should we be automating everything? When is it better to stick with tried-and-tested methods?
On this episode, investor, author and coach Joe McCall interviews Gary Boomershine for his podcast, Real Estate Investing Mastery. Together, we discuss why some marketing techniques work better than others.
3 Things We Learned
Don’t reinvent the wheel
With so many new technologies and techniques at our fingertips, it’s easy to feel like we need to try them all or add our own ideas to the mix. However, it’s a good idea to pay attention to what works and replicate that. We don’t need to give any more of our time than necessary.
Make phone calls
Because texting and emails have become so commonplace, it’s easier to market ourselves without having actual conversations. While it may be convenient, however, phone calls are still the most effective. Money is made on phone calls, so don’t neglect them.
Consider your seller’s emotional state
Property investment is a people’s business, so it’s important to pay attention to the people involved. So many factors influence a seller’s actions. Don’t discount these factors and make sure you’re paying attention.
Today there are many more improved and convenient options for marketing than ever before. These should definitely be explored, and can be used to supplement our existing marketing strategies. However, don’t spend too much time looking for newer, more exciting avenues - focus on what has worked. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel.
