KATIE AND KENNY TOUR THE RAILROAD by Keith N. Corman Katie and Kenny, along with their father, are taken on a tour of the local railroad yard by an engineer with the railroad. The basis of the book is to introduce children to the role railroads play in our lives, their importance, and to stress safety around railroads and their equipment: “NO PLAYGROUND!” In today’s world, the role of railroads has hardly been more important. Keith N. Corman feels it is a MUST to introduce to people why they are there, what they do, and, most importantly, how to be safety conscious around them. Keith N. Corman developed an early love of trains. At his boyhood home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the Baltimore and Ohio line ran within view and a New York Central branch bordered his backyard. Daily he’d race to watch the trains pass. The steam locomotives still in use were particularly exciting. All of his family and neighborhood knew the importance of safety around the railroads. As the years progressed, Keith never lost his interest in railroading, although he followed the course to pursue public service. As well as trains, Keith has a keen interest in history and philosophy. He and his wife, Martha, reside in Cincinnati, Ohio. Together they have one daughter, Amanda, who lives with her husband Caleb in Marietta, Georgia. Now retired, Keith has initiated a business consulting in regards to industrial development and the use of rail, river, and highway logistics. He is an avid model railroader, “Railfan,” and is active in promoting public education about the importance of railroads and rail safety. http://www.keithcormanbooks.com/order/ http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/kcorman2.mp3
