Usually an interactive combination of nature and nurture, Highly Sensitive People (HSP) are sensitive to sound, light, and even the feel of clothing. From a nurture perspective, when we are smothered/spoiled or emotionally dis-regulated, we never develop the thick enough skin necessary to protect us from emotional toxins. Signs of emotionally sensitive people include being easily triggered by others, and on a positive side, having more empathy, creativity, and ability to be intuitive.
