He fought as an amateur Muay Thai boxer in Bangkok, trained in several forms of dance, learned 5 languages, and studied Wu-Dang Tai Chi.He's crossed half of Southeast Asia on a motorcycle, rafted down the Amazon, ridden a bicycle across Mexico, swum with whale sharks in the Philippines, hitchhiked across Brazil, Malaysia and Taiwan, and climbed the tallest mountains of South America. He's rappelled off waterfalls in the jungle, zip-lined above volcanoes, and sailed across the South China Sea.As you can imagine, Danny and I get along really well. What I love most about Danny is that he's created a different narrative for himself. And, he's allowed himself to create so many reference experiences for himself (which he explains in the interview) that now, doing something that used to be scary and so far out of the ordinary, is just normal. "You just go out and you create opportunities."He's relied heavily on his ability to be resourceful and he got comfortable being uncomfortable. As an entrepreneur, he's found different ways to solve challenges by hacking the process. Being creative, being different, and focusing on what works right now without worrying too much about the future."I think work/life balance is a joke. It's not something you should strive for."If you think you can't afford to travel, it's probably because you're looking at travel from only one perspective. Think about it this way, instead: why pay for your accommodation when you can trade some free work for a free room? (Danny has stayed in amazing hotels with private gardens for months at a time, free of charge, by offering to build their website in exchange for a free stay.)There are no rules, no right or wrong way of doing things, and no structure or path you should follow. You just need to do what feels right, and what works. Be a true-problem solver."Fail at your perfect idea and realize it's not about what you want, it's about what your market wants."Today, Danny runs OpenWorld, the world's #1 resource for active lifestyle creators, and this episode of the podcast is for true freedom fighters, people who don't take no for an answer, don't strive for work/life balance, and just follow their true calling. More specifically, on this episode of the Unleash Yourself podcast, you’ll learn:What travelling through 30+ countries taught Danny about his true self. Why Danny couldn't hold a stable job for more than 1 month at a time. How to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Why having a work/life balance is the wrong lifestyle to strive for. How to take random, unplanned, and life-changing mini-retirements. (More frequently than you ever thought possible.) Why the metaphor of buying your own island left it's mark on Danny. How to keep growing and learning new things by throwing yourself into new, yet terrifying, business ventures. The concept behind the Cynefin Framework and how to embrace it. Want more of Danny?
