How, Why and When? with Jack Chew The mic has once again been turned on Chewy! In 2016 our ‘gobshite-in-chief’ Jack Chew struggled with neuropathic leg pain and weakness that eventually led to him having a lumbar decompression. It’s fair to say that he’s a pretty unique patient and so Paula Deacon of IPOPS (also Jack’s boss in the NHS) persuaded him to tell his tale. In presentations involving neuropathic pain, many questions emerge: ‘Should we scan?’, ‘When should we scan?’, ‘What rehab is safe?’, ‘What medication should we suggest?’, ‘What advise should we give?’, ‘What prognosis should be explained?’. All tough questions with no easy answers but in session 39 we experience just how tricky these questions are, even when the patient (supposedly) knows his stuff! Join Jack and Paula on a journey from injury, through surgery, to recovery! Follow us @PaulaWoods5, @TPMPodcast & @Chews_Health.
